What ho Brett. Great build as usual. As an older jet I must say the Crusader is a nice looker. I must check what the difference is between that and the Corvair or is it Corsair. They look alike. Great stuff sir.

What ho Brett. That collection is marvelous and may I say that I was so pleased to see a Hurricane. As I have said before I've always been a Hurricane man, although the Spit is still a thing of beauty. Mustangs are right up there aswell as the F6F-3 Hellcat. These are in my stash in 1/48. My poor old hands get all bitter and twisted trying 1/72 now. The Phantom Jolly Rogers I also have in 1/48 so I'll be studying your vid on that by jove! It's my favourite jet fighter of all time, they just look like they were meant to destroy things. I so enjoy your videos for the narration aswell as the results you produce. Fantastic sir. I bought the same model and the photo etch kits as you prescribed. Love your build ideas. I’m gonna use them when I start mine.

Wash the plastic sprue’s with warm soapy water and your hands. Dry with a hair dryer. Then with a large brush apply pink plastic prep, or IPA thinned 50/50 with deionised water. Then go over all the parts again with the water/IPA. Again dry with a hair dryer. You will never have a problem again. Moulds use releasing agent to make the sprue’s pop off the mould. Washing hands and plastic is a definite must.

Concerning the stretched sprue....I now avoid Tamiya liquid glue like the plague..its sooo hot. Mr. Cement is much better. Not as hot and doesn’t melt your details. The drawback is that its liquid active bonding state doesn’t last as long so you must work quicker...but it never melts your details.

I just got done building it and had a blast, lots of parts, details, and photo etch! The tracks were a little weird but I got it to work. I didn't add the figures because they looked cheesy.

It does look like an excellent model, and yet another increase in quality for Tamiya, in small yet noticeable ways. Shame about the crewmen though, they did look very low in comparison to the rest of the kit.

That's very nice, and formers for the P.E. - inspired. Maybe this will start a trend.

The decals on the box of that model is from the USS Saratoga. I flew along side those demons

Thought I’d share a fun fact. I love watching this video of the demon. The f3 h demon would streak a stream of black smoke from the engine, which was unique for the demon; no other plane streaked black smoke.

Would rather see you build the model than review the model. We all know the excellent reputation Tamiya has for quality.

I can’t believe this is a Tamiya kit! The level of detail on this is insane, yet it probably still retains that Tamiya fit and ease of construction! Might have to pick it up when I can :)

G'day Hammer! Cool review of a typical modern Tamiya kit. Not to disparage the Tamiya offering I think the Border kit offers better bang for buck given the price is way less, parts count is higher, more comprehensive PE plus you get a metal barrel included. All for under AUD$100!! Online reviews give it high marks. The Tamiya kit starts at that price here Down Under!!!! Keep the reviews coming and look forward to builds. Cheers! 👍

Scalehobbyist has it for $44 bucks. Can't beat that price. I'll get one. Got a cool striped white winter scheme. As to the figures? They are supposed to look like that. They are wearing NOMEX tank jump suit. New Tamiya figures are broken down that way because they are actually 3d scanned. And I've built several of their new and newer kits and if they do have a complicated pe screen, they always come with a plastic guide. Their bt5 and 7 kits have one and I kept them in case i build one of those from a different manufacturer. In all honesty. Plenty Of armor must-have pe guides. Most are for Sherman light guards. Oh and the tracks are mostly snap together. You Can't beat from the ground up brand new Tamiya kits

This is actually a huge step up from the previous Tamiya kits. They finally started stepping up their game when they introduced their Panther-D and M4A3E8 Sherman. I think their retooled King Tiger is supposed to be a decent kit, but I can't swear to it.

The P-400s weren't re-requisitioned, they were issued to RAF 601 Sq. who flew them on one sweep over occupied France, parked them, and gave them back. The Brits loathed it. The Soviets LOVED it...

It’s interesting that most kit manufacturers choose to illustrate aircraft when flying. Yet….how many modellers do this?

I’ve only built one Eduard kit; the F4F-4 Wildcat. I was quite impressed with the quality and engineering. You may have just convinced me to add a P-51 to my stash. You really need to do your research before starting your build though. 😉 Great review. Peace and love.

Some fine detail and some nice goodies in there! I agree about the resin exhaust. The kit plastic parts look fantastic. Use the resin exhaust on the Accurate Miniatures kit😂

I just did a P-51B from Monogram. Did it in “Red Tails” livery. I am going to have to get this simply because it has “Shangra La” in it. I wish that plane had survived. It is buried in an old pond next to where Gentry was based.
